Since the 1980s, the American Payroll Association's educational, certification, and publication services have been frequently sought by companies outside of the United States. Globalization has been part of the fabric of the American Payroll Association (APA) since its inception, and we have executed this by educating and certifying payroll professionals around the globe.

In 2015, the APA founded the Global Payroll Management Institute (GPMI) to continue to service our customers and engagements globally, while also satisfying the growing needs of our multinational and international customers. Currently, GPMI has subscribers in 117 countries.

If you're looking for a fun and engaging way to celebrate our rebrand, look no further than PAYO, the newest song from Pegine.

As of 2 May 2023, the APA and GPMI have combined to become PayrollOrg. Our tagline is The Leader in Payroll Education.
