California Pay Data Reports Due in May, New Information Required

BY: Lia Coniglio, Esq. | 03/26/24

The California Civil Rights Department (CRD) is reminding employers that 2023 pay data reports are due on May 8, 2024. The pay data reporting portal is open and templates for reporting year 2023 are available.

State law requires private employers with 100 or more employees and/or 100 or more workers hired through labor contractors to report pay, demographic, and other workforce data annually to the CRD.

New for reports due in 2024, employers must report whether employees worked remotely during the “snapshot period,” defined as a single pay period between October 1 and December 31 of the reporting year. Employers are free to choose the pay period.

Updated FAQs are available on the CRD website.
