2023 Payroll Congress to Offer Federal Workshops

On May 16-19, APA and GPMI will hold the 41st Annual Payroll Congress Convention and Expo in Denver. Sessions will be offered along seven educational tracks, including: benefits and compensation, payroll management and operations, late-breaking legislative and regulatory updates, technology, and global payroll.

Payroll Congress will offer numerous workshops on federal topics.

Wednesday, May 17

Forum on Federal Payroll Issues is a two-part workshop featuring federal government agency representatives answering important regulatory questions that affect payroll. Scheduled agencies include the IRS, U.S. Department of Labor, Office of Child Support Enforcement, U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Social Security Administration, and the U.S. Census Bureau.

Fair Labor Standards Act: Wage and Hour Nightmares, Case Studies, and Legal Updates will examine issues and provide updates on the FLSA.

1099-NEC and 1099-MISC Reporting: Federal and State Requirements will provide attendees with insight into federal and state reporting requirements.

Thursday, May 18

Prevention of Overpaid Employment Taxes will help attendees identify common causes of overpaid employment taxes and explain ways to mitigate and recover overpayments.
